Queens speech

I'm rather bemused at Labour's priorities conundrum. For months we've been hearing about this and that environmental measure, and how Labour is good for the environment. Indeed, Labour in the 2005 election promised a comprehensive Marine bill, visiting an area of biodiversity and social concern that's not usually on the radar.

However, herewe are, awaiting the planned Queens Speech . Already there is an indication that the Marine Bill will be dropped. So, what else is on the agenda? Violent Porn? So, the government is more concerned about the moral fibre of the country and are legislating against depictions of violent pornography just because a consenting fetisihist was killed by another fetishist and Martin Salter of Reading can't tell the difference between a crappy horror movie and a snuff film.

I never expected to see a government legislate on the basis of an urban myth, or is this an attempt to make up for firing blanks?
